The cornerstone is the first foundation stone that is set and it determines the position of all the other stones to be laid afterwards.

As the Scriptures express it, “See, I am sending Christ to be the carefully chosen, precious Cornerstone of my church, and I will never disappoint those who trust in him.” 1 Peter 2:6

Objective: Challenging children to memorize scripture so they will

Know the Truth and can discern what is false

Be able to stand firm and live a God honoring life

Be equipped to serve God

Be able to defend their faith

Guiding Scriptures:

If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free. John 8:31-32

Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path. Psalm 119:105

I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you. Psalm 119:11

Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. 2 Timothy 3:16-17

But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect… 1 Peter 3:15
